Key Questions for LED Industry

Question 1
This question is about the MOCVD process which is very important in the LED process. This part requires extremely precise processing. Does LG CNS have a unique know-how to do this?

MOCVD is a critical process in LED manufacturing. Although wafers need to be carefully loaded to the work center for batch processing, it is manually treated and this manual wafer loading for batch processing becomes an issue. Manual processing can results in surface contamination and damage of wafers, which makes them more vulnerable to loading errors. LG CNS solves this problem by developing and deploying an MOCVD loading center to automate manual processing.

Question 2
You mentioned the MOCVD loading center as a solution to loading error problems during the manual loading process of in the MOCVD process. Please tell us more about the MOCVD loading center.

The MOCVD loading center uses an Air Floating Chuck to which Bernoulli's principle is applied for loading processes, so there is no manual touching involved while wafers are loaded, which prevents wafer surfaces from coming into contact with contaminants. Building a Remote Operation System (ROS) minimizes defects in the process caused by human failures.
